Choosing a place to hold a conference, exhibition, forum, or training ground is crucial and not easy. Many things should be taken into account and thought about: transportation, living, meals, conference rooms, equipment. The success or failure of business meetings has an influence on the company’s reputation, relationships with clients and partners, corporate environment, and the development of the business in general. If you want to raise the standard of the event and put together the ideal organization at the event with a feeling of happiness, comfort, and prosperity, come to Kazan - the capital of the land of 1001 delights.
We’re driving, driving, driving
Logistics is one of the key issues for the organizers. Who wants to travel to their destination riding reindeer for three days, walk on neglected roads, and catch an uncertified, broken down taxi? The capital of Tatarstan won’t bother you like this. Kazan is connected to more than 25 big cities in Russia via rail road. Also, the international highway E22 goes through Kazan, starting from Great Britain going all the way to the Tyumen region; the federal M7 highway from Moscow continues to Ufa. The Kazan airport has international status and it was twice named the best regional airport in Russia and the CIS. It connects Tatarstan to 70 cities in Russia and other countries.
In 2015 Kazan was listed in the top 10 cities for road quality by the road inspection group 'Let’s Check the Quality of the Roads.' A special website was created about public transportation where you can find all the necessary information including routes and schedules. The transfer and taxi market is pretty big and competitive. You can use giants like Uber and Yandex.Taxi, or use local companies like Taxi Tatarstan which is connected to the service TapTaxi.
It’s hard to think about work when your stomach is dreaming about some good food and your head is thinking about a soft pillow. Kazan will take care of both. There are more than 150 hotels in the city, from the giant international chains to the cozy, little, local hotels with several rooms for those who like familiar comfort and traditional stuff – for any taste and budget.
Speaking of the high level of service, it is a fact that in 6 out of the 8 hotel categories on TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choiсe, Kazan hotels are the winners. The food deserves to be mentioned separately. Thanks to numerous restaurants and cafes, you can’t stay hungry in Kazan, whether you are a meat lover or a vegetarian, keeping the orthodox fast or following Islamic tenets, fond of Russian cuisine or want to tap into the treasure of the Tatar one.
Faster, higher, stronger
During the last few years Kazan was regularly hosting some international sport competitions such as the 2013 Summer Universiade and the FINA World Championship in 2015. The sport events left a good legacy for the city. All the infrastructural objects were built in such a way that they could be used for conferences and forums in future. For example, the International Information Center at Universiade Village has a conference room for 3000 people. The Kazan Arena can hold not only the soccer matches but also any events of any format, including mass celebrations.
That is not all. There are about 100 rooms for events that can hold 10-1400 people each, starting from the elite hotel Korston to the art lab Shtab. Kazanskaya Yarmarka – one of the biggest exhibition centers of Russia – has many businesses too. A new high-tech city named Innopolis was founded one year ago, and became a place for large forums, assemblies and conferences.

Nowadays it’s hard to imagine a business trip without a cultural program, especially if it’s an entertaining corporate tour. Kazan has something to offer for those who want to get out from the usual route of airport – hotel – meeting room. After all, Tatarstan is the land of 1001 delights. Anything can be found here: UNESCO sights, museums, Volga cruises, walks on carefully maintained historic roads, and master classes on Tatar cuisine . Although the main thing that makes people come here again and again is the authentic atmosphere and the feeling of wealth and vigor, that appears only at places where people are really hospitable and the city is not dividing its people into locals and tourists.
Looking into the future
Right now Kazan is getting ready for the 2017 Confederations Cup and 2018[АЕ2] FIFA World Cup. Additionally, by 2017, a new exhibition center Kazan-Expo will be built; it will be the biggest in the Volga region; it’s going to be the primary venue for holding big exhibitions and business events. The 2019 WorldSkills Competition will be held here.
Are you with us?
More than half a million people are coming to Kazan every year for business and professional purposes. Dozens of events are happening: from small conferences to huge forums and exhibitions for thousands of people: The Kazan International Tourism Forum, the Night of Urban Studies, TedXKazan, the international forum Living Environment: The New Standard. The list goes on, but it would be even better if you add your own event into it.
