The Kazan Millennium Park (Kazan 1000th Anniversary Park) is the newest city park located near the embankment of Lake Kaban. Its total area is five hectares. The main avenue of the park shows the path of Kazan's development for hundreds of years. In the center of the park you will find a large fountain arranged in the style of a boiling cauldron. It represents the origin of the city. Next to it there is a memorial to the philosopher and poet, Kul Gali. Many floral alleys, planted by CIS Summit participants and guests invited to the celebration of the Kazan 1000th anniversary, branch off this water-fairy show. You will find bronze guards and Zilants (legendary creature in the Tatar legends assuming the similitude of a dragon) all over the square. This is a wonderful place for walks, celebrations, and leisure. The beauty of the old and new buildings in the city can be seen from any side of the park. This sight has created a new tradition among the newlyweds: they come here, throw a coin into the fountain, and make a wish.
