"Sosnovaya Roshcha", the second largest park in Kazan (Gorky Park being the largest) was established in 1945. A key focus during the most recent reconstruction which began in 2014, was put towards saving the plants in the park - more than two thousand deciduous trees and about one and a half thousand coniferous trees. Hazardous trees were removed, and a thousand saplings were planted in exchange. The park is well-lit, has an asphalt parking lot, and the entrance to the park as well as the fencing around the Kizichesky Monastery have all been refurbished. The renovated park now boasts unique childrens’ playgrounds built based on Danish and Dutch technologies, as well as playgrounds for children with disabilities.
