The Dvortsovaya Ploshchad (Palace Square) is a remarkable sight in the Kazan historic center and one of the newest and most decorated city squares. It is situated between the Agriculturalist's Palace and the Kazanka River embankment. Sometimes it is called the Dvortsovaya Embankment.
The sight is notable for its majestic, magnificent architectural forms and intense, eye-catching evening lights. It has a beautiful view of the illuminated north wall of the Kremlin, the Church of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa on the hill, as well as the modern district. Here beautiful alleys are arranged, ornate benches, fountains illuminated and decorated with a decorative stone staircase leading to the promenade. Since 2011, an open gala concert during the famous opera festival entitled Kazan Autumn has been held on the square. In 2013, there was the Universiade Park established and in 2014 the City Day concert was held with participation of foreign performers.
