The Kazan Arena Stadium is located in the Novo-Savinovsky district of Kazan, on the bank of the Kazanka River. In 2013 it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 27th World Summer University Games. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has given the stadium 5 stars.
The Kazan Arena accommodates 45 000 spectators and so far, it is the maximum for Russia. It offers 72 private boxes, 230 fast food stations, the restaurant named Palladium, which seats up to 300 guests, the sports bar entitled 1958 and the exhibition hall called Crystal Hall. The conference hall is used for various events in and the children's playground welcomes young visitors. In addition, there are a fitness center, the museum of the Rubin Football Club, the museum of vintage cars and the museum named Kazan Arena in the stadium territory. The visitors can park their cars in a guarded parking lot with 4 500 car places. The whole stadium is a free Wi-Fi zone.
Kazan Arena is a home stadium of the Rubin Football Club; the stadium hosted the first football match of the Russian Championship on August 17, 2014. The stadium is included into the list of arenas which are planned to hold the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches. In addition, a number of the 2015 World Aquatics Championships will be held in here. There will be two pools installed on the field for the World Championship.
