Autumn in Tatarstan begins with a pleasant and delicious festival on the Sviyazhsk island town. The lives of locals is very closely connected with fishing, so it’s no surprise that fish soup is considered a traditional local dish. Organizers of the gastronomic festival have turned the cooking and degustation of the soup into a true celebration with music, dancing, master classes and folklore performances. Sviyazhsk will host fishing contests, a competition to see who will prepare the best soup, a concert of a folk band and a fire show.
