Volzhsko-Kamskiy State Nature Reserve

The reserve in the eastern part of Tatarstan consists of two zones: the Raifa site in the Zelenodolsky district and the Saralinsky area in the Laishevsky district. On the territory of the Raifa site there is a 3.5 hectare arboretum with over 500 plant species. Visitors can visit the museum of nature which showcases 50 inhabitants of the reserve. The protected zone contains a historical and architectural monument of the 17th century - the Bogoroditskiy Monastery of Raifa. In the Saralinsky area, animals are kept in natural conditions. The main attraction is the white-tailed eagle, listed in the IUCN Red List. The sky here is full of seagulls and vultures, and you might also be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a moose, beaver and even a raccoon dog.
