Stukenberg Geology Museum of Kazan State University
Founded in 1805, the Geological Museum of Kazan University was developed due to the famous Kazan scientists - Karl Fuchs, Adolf Kupfer and others. Today the museum contains 430,000 exhibits from 60 countries. The museum houses one of the largest collections of meteorites in Russia, samples of rocks of the Moon and Mars, collections of minerals, ores, rocks, ornamental stones, the remains of ancient plants and animals and fossil fuels. You can wander through the eight halls of the museum, with a tour or dive right into mineralogy, crystallography, geodynamics, and historical geology in more detail by signing up to one if the special programs. Young visitors to the museum will also have a good time as they will be able to follow the friendly mammoth Geo, with whom they will learn about the secrets of the universe.
