The Youth Theatre in Bulak
The Youth Theatre in Bulak was founded in 2010. The theatre is a centre for creative initiatives - a platform for groups of young people to stage their experimental productions. The theatre has and continues to exist without any outside support: the actors, most of whom are students of the Kazan Theatre School personally contributed to equipping the stage and auditorium, and even made their own sets. There is no glamor which is usually present within interiors of typical academic theatres, which is done on purpose so the audience can divert their attention solely to the artistry of the performers. The repertoire is made up of works by modern authors, such as Yevgeni Grishkovetz, however the directors have recently started to add classics to the programme too. The trademark performances of the theatre are "Primadonna" and "Zima" ("Winter" in Russian).
