Museum of Islamic Culture
The museum on the ground floor of the Kul Sharif Mosque contains exhibits about the history and culture of Islam of the Tatars of the Volga and Ural regions. This is the only such exhibition in Russia. In 2014, the museum added a number of additional new exhibits including interactive ones, the star of which is the "Leafing Quran" (a book with touch-screen panels instead of pages). This interactive feature demonstrates the first Kazan edition of the Quran published in 1803. You can listen to several audio tracks of surahs here too where the spoken text is duplicated in Arabic on the screen, next to the semantic Russian translation.
